Fruit Growers Express (FGE), now controlled by CSX Corp. was based in VA and FL. Serving the East and Midwest, in 1923 FGE and GN Railway formed Western Fruit Express. FGE expanded into the Pacific Northwest USA via a partnership with the CB&Q Railroad forming Burlington Refrigerator Express (BREX). In 1928 FGE created the National Car Co.

Western Pacific Railroad (WP) was formed in 1903, serving our Southwest and West Coast states. In 1983 Western Pacific was acquired by the Union Pacific Railroad. At the turn of the 19th Century, during America's Industrial Revolution, our Railroads refurbished many of their older cars for modern use. Steel underframes, Bettendorf trucks, and newer brake systems were employed. Full Throttle offers two renovated 34' freight/reefer/ice cars which traveled our nation into the early diesel era!
