The pendulum-type express diesel car Kiha 283 series, which is in service with JR Hokkaido, debuted in 1997 as the "Super Ozora" which connects Sapporo and Kushiro. Its style combines a high cab steel front end with a stainless steel body, and features a clean rooftop with floor-mounted coolers. With the timetable change in March 2020, the "Super Ozora" was renamed to "Ozora".

KATO has reproduced the protector added to the roof coupling surface to prevent damage to the driver's cab window in the middle of the formation due to ice sliding, as well as the head marking in accordance with the renaming to "Ozora" and the full-color LED destination display with stickers (on the end units of the basic set only). You can enjoy various formation patterns by combining the basic set and the add-on set.
